Our two beautiful and spacious circular showers are a unique experience for our guests. The walls are constructed with beautiful mosaic made from recycled tiles and tableware. True artistic works. Guests have the choice between the red and the blue experience. Both showers have a large window (at head height 😉) with a spectacular view over the fields. Many people enjoy showering in the sun and looking at the green meadows with horses in the distance.
Our showers can be considered ‘circular’. The water is preheated by a large 200-liter solar boiler on the roof. The sun-heated water then flows by gravity to two 80-liter electric eco-boilers that check if the water is at least 60 degrees and, if necessary, heat it up. So you always enjoy nice warm water, even on cloudy days!!
After showering, the shower water is filtered through a local water purification system and stored in a canal next to it for use during dry times in the summer. Then it is used to water the vegetable garden. The filter consists of various marsh plants, also called ‘helophytes‘. Around their roots live micro-organisms that remove substances and fine sediments from the water. That’s why it’s important to use only biodegradable products (for personal care) while showering.
For this reason, we offer free shower gel, shampoo and cream rinse/conditioner from ‘Faith-in-Nature‘ by Rivka Rose in both showers. Their large 20-liter ‘refill’ packs help us reduce disposable plastic and the 99% biodegradability helps our helophyte filter break down the shower water better.
So you don’t have to bring anything yourself. That saves on packing again!
